The World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter (WTCCJC) held its 11th Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Joint Meeting on September 27. The event was hosted by WTCCJC President Huang Kai-lin, with Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Minister Tung Chen-yuan attending online. World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (WTCC) President Liang Hui-teng, Secretary General Chang Chung-ping and OCAC Department of Compatriot Business Affairs Director Chang Shu-yan attended in person, joining in the grand occasion with young entrepreneurs around the world online and offline.
In his speech, Minister Tung praised WTCCJC President Huang for successfully promoting the development of WTCCJC affairs in face of the stiff challenges presented by the global pandemic and also for serving as a discussant for the Online Livestream Course for the Training of Overseas Compatriot Business Organization Officials, sharing how the WTCCJC promoted its affairs using physical and digital methods during the pandemic. He mentioned that the WTCCJC had also held many online business opportunity lectures, inviting many heavyweight senior figures from the chamber to share their experiences of starting a business and business development.
Minister Tung stressed that the theme of the WTCCJC annual meeting this year was "Empowering young entrepreneurs, moving forward digitally," representing the bringing into play of inheritance and innovation by the WTCCJC. He promised that the OCAC will continue to create more stages, providing Taiwan's resources and personnel connections in the areas of technology, innovation, medicine and culture etc., so that young overseas compatriot entrepreneurs around the world can shine on the world stage; young entrepreneurs can also connect with enterprises at home and overseas to allow Taiwan to go out into the world, and engage in exchange to jointly assist young entrepreneurs around the world to grow.
On the day of the event, WTCCJC officials presented their work reports and officials of its subordinate six continental junior chambers of commerce also reported on the results in each region. Lastly, Sophia Huang of Chicago was elected as the new and 12th WTCCJC President by a wide margin. The handover ceremony between outgoing WTCCJC President Huang Kai-lin and Sophia Huang was conducted under the supervision of WTCC President Liang Hui-teng, amidst a warm and lively atmosphere.
