After hearingthat blood stocks were low due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand and various overseas compatriot groups brought into play the power of love from Taiwan. From October 5-9, they cooperated in holding a blood donation charity activity at the National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, calling on overseas compatriots and overseas-based Taiwanese to roll up their sleeves and help others by donating blood.
The opening ceremony for the blood donation charity activity was held on October 5 and was attended by TECO in Thailand Deputy Representative Hsu Wei-ming, and National Blood Center Deputy Director Phawinee Kuptwintu. The event was attended by more than 30 leaders and representatives of leading overseas compatriot groups such as : the Thailand Overseas Chinese Association, Taiwan Association of Thailand, Thai-Taiwan Business Association (TTBA) and its Youth League (TTBAY)etc. , all the participants showed their compassion in action.
Deputy Representative Hsu Wei-Ming made a remark by saying that the epidemic had affected people's willingness to go out, resulting in a shortage of blood stocks all over. This enthusiastic blood donation activity organized by expatriate Taiwanese at the time of the National Day of the Republic of China , Taiwan was indeed a charitable act that was especially valuable in the epidemic period. It showed the selfless contribution of Taiwanese to Thai society and the firm friendship between the people of the two countries, and can be called an extraordinary birthday present on the R.O.C. Taiwan National Day as well as putting the spirit of "Taiwan Can Help" into practice.
