13th Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe Junior Chapter(ETCCJC) held its second Board Meeting in Hamburg, Germany from December 1 and to 3. The three-day event had VIP participants, including Economic Division Director Simon Gong and Overseas Compatriot Affairs Secretary Chin-Ling Fu from the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, Director General Yu-Shun Chen and Secretary Yun-Chan Wu at the Hamburg Office, President Olga Lin, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Ngao, and Chief Supervisor Sandy Ruan of the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe (ETCC). The event attracted 45 members from various Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, including those in Turkey, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Sweden, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland.
The event started with a visit to the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce (IHK) on Friday, followed by a dinner cruise on the Alster Lake. On Saturday, there were a total of five seminar sessions covering topics such as AI, youth entrepreneurship, the science of healthy foot care, as well as two workshops on networking and team collaboration. Despite the rare heavy snowfall in recent years, the participants had the opportunity to explore the city by visiting Hamburg's renowned International Maritime Museum and taking a city tour in the City Game format. The diverse activities provided everyone a rewarding experience.
During the break time in between the keynote sessions, the organizer thoughtfully provided Taiwanese snacks, including noodles mixed with a special sauce from Taiwan-Xiang Sauce Pavilion, Taiwanese-style bread from Teamate Pang bakery, and classic pastries from Long Feng Tang Pastry Shop., offering an unforgettable taste of Taiwan for all the participants. The event also featured a delightful boat cruise and a Portuguese-themed dinner, where exciting quiz and raffle activities were arranged. The prizes included round-trip tickets from EVA Air and China Airlines for flights between Germany and Taipei. Additionally, various vouchers and gifts were offered by the Bank of Taiwan Frankfurt Representative Office, the First Commercial Bank Frankfurt Branch, and several Taiwanese companies in Europe, including ShunShun Travel, Thermaltake, Leafhopper, Real Snow Expedition, and ido Books. These offerings reflected the considerate efforts of the European Taiwanese business community, and showcased the support and recognition from Taiwanese chamber of commerce members in Europe. All participants eagerly anticipates the next gathering at the third board meeting of the ETCC and its Junior Chapter, scheduled for May 11-13, 2024, in the Netherlands.
