Christina Huang is founder, chef and CEO of Taiwanese fusion restaurant ZAOKA in Paris, France; co-founder and vice-president of TRUCTRUC in Taiwan, Christina has a BA in Literature from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, Master of Project and Programme Management from the University of Warwick in UK, and she also obtained two diplomas in French cuisine and French pastry. She used to work in big enterprises in fashion and luxury, but then discovered real joy and passion in gastronomy and travel.

After quitting her job in luxury fashion, Christina Huang came to Paris and obtained two diplomas in both French cuisine and French pastry at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Paris. She has traveled more than 30 countries, has lived in Taiwan, Australia, UK, and now lives in Paris. So it's logical that her cooking always "fuses" everything : from east to west, the French technique and Taiwanese flavor - taste is just like a voyage. She represented Taiwan in the international fête de la gastronomie in Paris in 2017, and she is also the designated Asian chef of Zwilling/STAUB group, the chairperson of the Association of National Tsing Hua University French Alumni, and the winner of Youth Taiwanese Entrepreneurship Award in 2021. She always devotes herself to culinary diplomacy, especially focusing on gastro-diplomacy between Taiwan and the West.

After graduation, Christina Huang interned in the French foreign affairs ministry. As the only foreigner and intern there, it deepened the connection with France for her. Later on, she continued to work at Le Cordon Bleu as chef assistant, and eventually made up her mind to open her own business in 2016 : restaurant ZAOKA. This is the combination of her enthusiasm in literature, entrepreneurship and food. As a female Taiwanese chef in France, Christina Huang always wants to use her skills and talents to create a Taiwanese fusion restaurant. She strongly believes great food is the best diplomacy and she always want to represent her country and cuisine on the international stage. It was quite an adventure to start her own business in a foreign country, without family at all here. Therefore, restaurant ZAOKA 灶咖 decided to target local French customers, and it has become the new star in the 5th district in Paris. It has been reported many times by Timeout Paris, Le Monde, etc., and is also ranked as the best 50 restaurants in Paris by Timeout.

Living abroad for 15 years and also having traveled for more than 30 countries, Christina Huang appreciates the rare artisanal spirit a lot. Therefore, she always dreamed of introducing good Taiwanese products to European market, and vice versa. During Covid-19, Christina Huang and her business partner Perry Yang decided to launch another business TRUCTRUC, focusing on introducing Taiwanese quality products to Europe, and vice versa. Under the Covid-19 circumstances, TRUCTRUC started from exporting European artisan products to Taiwan. All the products and are carefully selected, presented, and well introduced to Taiwanese customers : fleur de sel de Guêrande, huile de noisette de Périgord, confiture de Paris, etc…. Even though it was extremely difficult at the beginning during the pandemic - every exporter suffered from higher international transportation cost, inefficiency and unpredictable long waiting time, TRUCTRUC still launched its online shopping platform in 2020 and opened three physical shops in 2021.

"It's never too late to dream." That describes Christina, a female Taiwanese chef in a foreign country, who believes in Taiwan values and wants to shine her faith on the global stage. Never giving up, always believing in dream and courage, even after many years on this difficult entrepreneurship path, still having the sparkling eyes……that is Chef Christina Huang.
