Feng-I Tai became CEO of COX Analytical Systems Sweden AB, the world-leading XRF core scanning instrument supplier, in 2020. Before joining COX, she had more than a decade of experience working with analyticalscientific instrumentation in multi disciplines, across physics, chemistry, biopharma and engineering applications.
Feng-I has dedicated her great passion, creativity and curiosity into scientific instrumentation since her PhD study in molecular physics at Linköpings universitet in Sweden. With a solid science background, she joined the instrument supply industry after her degree. Over the years, she established her network in academia and industry in the global market, and built her professional profile along the way to become a team leader who has hands-on experience and future perspective.
COX Analytical Systems supplies high-end XRF (X-ray Fluorescence) scanners for rock drill cores, wet sediment and wood, within fields like geology, petroleum engineering, mineral exploration, forestry, environmental monitoring, paleo climate research, etc. Since the early 90s, with in-house developed instrumentation and data analysis software, COX today has around 60% market coverage. Most of ITRAX scanners are operating in the most advanced research laboratories worldwide, producing 150 scientific publications on average per year.
In the recent years, high demand for strategic metals/minerals in the energy field has accelerated the need of XRF scanning in applications and production. Not only the EU continues to drive its strategy and sustainable development plans with green energy focus, but the whole world also sees that natural resource exploration is becoming more and more important.
Feng-I believes "A scientist knows what the scientists need and are looking for, and a leader builds a team to make it." This is her vision as she looks ahead and seeks to contribute her competence to research and a sustainable future.
Feng-I joined the Junior Chapter of Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Sweden in 2016, and in 2022 became a member of World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce. In 2021, she was named Global Young Entrepreneur Star. She is very honored to be able to present her experience and share sparkling ideas to all the members, in Taiwan and abroad.
