The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) has drawn up the Guidelines for Provision Grants for University Courses on Overseas Compatriot Affairs with the aim of encouraging universities in Taiwan to engage in overseas compatriot affairs-related teaching and research and to enhance the understanding of university students of overseas compatriot affairs.

Any public or private university that is registered with the Ministry of Education that establishes courses or special topic lectures with the theme of ROC overseas compatriot policy and on the subject of overseas compatriots, overseas compatriot education, overseas compatriot business or overseas compatriot students can apply for a grant from the OCAC by submitting related documents. The application period runs each year from April 1-30. Applications that are approved will receive a grant.
