2022 Taiwan-Europe Business Forum by The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe-Junior Chapter

The 12th Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe -Junior Chapter (ETCC-JC) held the Taiwan-Europe Business Forum and 2nd Board Meeting in London from November 11 to 13. On the first day, a visit to Evergreen House was arranged, the visitors treated to a lunch banquet. Evergreen House Chairman Wilson Chen, Managing Director Vincent Huang, Manager of the Supervision and Management Division Philip Tsai, Manager of the International Market Division Patrick Liu, 16 Evergreen expat employees from Taiwan and local managers all welcomed the guests. In the evening, a welcome banquet was held at the Rembrandt Hotel in South Kensington which was attended by around 80 ETCC-JC directors and supervisors, advisers and people from local business circles and overseas compatriot academia. Renowned local Blue Badge tour guide Craig Kao led guests on a visit to the V&A Museum afterwards.

The next day, the Taiwan-Europe Business Forum and 2nd board meeting of the 12th ETCC-JC was held at Imperial College London. Speakers included Director of the Compatriot Affairs Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K Chen Shih-chih, Director of the Taiwan Trade Centre London Thomas Huang, President of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce James Huang, President of The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe (ETCC) Jen-Charles Lam, Vice President of the ETCC Evelyn Lee, Chairman of the Junior Business Committee of the ETCC Dr. Benny Hsu, President of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter Yu Wei-han, Managing Director of SinoPac Securities (Europe) Juno Lee, President of the Imperial College London Civil Engineering Taiwan Alumni Association Dr. Clive Shen and President of the Student Union of the ROC in the UK David Huang.

The Taiwan-Europe Business Forum invited various Taiwanese professionals based in Europe to speak, including Dr. Frank Chuang who gave a lecture titled "Blockchain and cryptocurrency trends analysis and practical strategy;" Cambridge University startup NUWA Biotech CEO Dr. Wen Ming-hsuan gave the lecture “Stem cell industry trends in the embryonic period"; Bank of America analyst Dr. Fernando Tan lectured on "Quantitative analysis of finance'; Oxford University doctoral candidate Baron Ho lectured on “New progress and business applications of magnetic semiconductor material"; President of the ETCC-JC Shane Day spoke on "Commercial application of Psychology". It was attended by around 110 people including around 80 ETCC-JC directors and supervisors and local overseas compatriot academia.

The next day, ETCC-JC members moved to Oxford for the Taiwan-Europe Technology Forum. Vice President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in the UK- Junior Chapter Baron Ho invited several Oxford University students to give presentations on Oxford's advanced research for European guests. Visits were also arranged to Oxford University's famous colleges and museums to soak up the local culture and arts atmosphere. The European guests were also invited that night to a formal dinner at Exeter College, enjoying a Harry Potter style unique Oxford college dinner and bringing the event to a perfect end.
