Overseas Itinerant Cultural Teaching Programs

In order to promote traditional culture and enhance overseas compatriots' understanding of Taiwanese culture, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) sends selected culture teachers abroad every year to assist in cultural education activities held by overseas compatriot schools or organizations. The project aims to instruct folk dances, arts, and sports along with other cultural crafts to promote Taiwan's exquisite traditional arts and demonstrate diverse Taiwanese culture to all parts of the world.

(In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, some cultural education activities are held online or taught by local teachers in 2022)

1. Itinerant Cultural Teaching Programs (Asia, Africa, Oceania, Latin America)

The OCAC sends selected culture teachers to overseas compatriot schools and organizations in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Oceania, Latin America, and South Africa every year (depending on the needs) to assist in cultural education activities. This is an important way to reach out to younger generations of overseas compatriots.

2.Summer Camp Cultural Teaching (Europe, North America)

Eevry year the OCAC sends selected culture teachers to assist in summer camps for youth held by overseas compatriot organizations in North America, Canada, and Europe, in the hope of enhancing the younger generation's understanding of and love for Taiwanese culture from an early stage.
