Deputy Minister Hsu Chia-ching encourages young entrepreneurs to help push Taiwan onto the international stage
Wu Chia-yu, President of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America Junior Chapter (TCCNAJC), led a delegation on a visit to the OCAC on October 6, 2021 where they were warmly welcomed by OCAC Deputy Minister Hsu Chia-ching. Taiwan-US relations and the development of overseas compatriot youth were discussed. Firstly, the OCAC's various innovative policies and services were introduced in a presentation to give the young entrepreneurs an understanding of the services and resources the OCAC provide to overseas compatriot and Taiwanese businesses.
Deputy Minister Hsu said that junior chapters continue to grow and that many past junior chapter presidents are now important officials in overseas compatriot groups, therefore, it is fair to say they are important cradles for nurturing overseas community talent. This year the OCAC has held a Young Entrepreneur Star of Tomorrow competition to encourage young entrepreneurs to perform well overseas. Most of the winners are members of junior chapters of chambers of commerce. Their achievements have received strong affirmation.
Wu Chia-yu said that the OCAC has added many new services and taken a big step forward with regard to serving young entrepreneurs. In the area of talent nurturing, the OCAC cooperates and exchanges with many of universities and helps overseas compatriot students enter the employment market. He said this is why he wants to take the opportunity of this visit to recommend some talented people from the Junior Chapter to the OCAC.
The visiting young entrepreneurs voiced great confidence in Taiwan's medicine care because the joint effort of the government and people allowed COVID-19 to be effectively controlled, winning the praise around the world. The young entrepreneurs are also interested in startups and hope that they can learn in-depth about Taiwan's startups through the OCAC. Interaction was lively.
Finally, Deputy Minister Hsu expressed the hope of conveying information to overseas compatriots through the junior chapter and overseas groups so that overseas compatriot friends are able to immediately receive correct information. She also thanked the TCCNAJC for sharing and exchanging opinions and said they will be used as reference for future OCAC policy.
