Tung Chen-yuan attends ASTCCJC Directors and Supervisors Joint Meeting

The 2nd board of directors and supervisors joint meeting of the 11th Asia Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter (ASTCCJC) was held on December 21st, 2021. It was hosted by ASTCCJC President Chiang Pei-shan and attended by Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Minister Tung Chen-yuan, legislator Wen Yu-hsia, Asia Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce President Chiang Fu-long, Young Entrepreneur Guidance Committee Chairperson Hsieh Jia-zen, World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter (WTCCJC) President Sophia Huang, Counselor President Huang Kai-lin and Honorary President Richard Tseng who interacted online with young entrepreneurs in various Asian countries.

Minister Tung said that young overseas compatriot entrepreneurs will be an important force supporting national development in the future. In order to strengthen assistance to young overseas compatriot entrepreneurs, the OCAC has brought out the Overseas compatriot entrepreneurs with industry-academia cooperative service programs and Industry Upgrading and Technical Service Program for Overseas Compatriot Entrepreneurs in cooperation with 35 domestic universities and 10 research institutions to assist Taiwanese and overseas compatriot entrepreneurs and young overseas compatriot entrepreneurs with industrial upgrading and technical consulting. This year, the Global Young Entrepreneur Stars Selection was held for the first time, with nine winners from Asia. In combination with the resources of domestic industry, government, academia, research and other circles, the OCAC will continue to link Taiwan's technology, innovation, medicine, culture and other industries with young overseas compatriot entrepreneurs for cooperation to combine with Taiwan's advantages to help them grow strong. He also expressed the hope that the power of young entrepreneurs can help Taiwan go out into the world and create a domestic and overseas win-win situation.

Wen Yu-hsia said that young entrepreneur succession is important work of Taiwanese chambers of commerce and that when she was president of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (WTCC), she set up a mechanism to help with succession. She thanked the OCAC for holding training courses for officials of junior chapters of chambers of commerce to assist with implementing 2nd generation succession. She also expressed the hope that everyone will continue to support Taiwanese chambers of commerce and that if overseas compatriot and Taiwanese entrepreneurs and young overseas compatriot entrepreneurs require assistance she will pass on their needs to the relevant agencies.

On the day, as well as an organizational affairs report from the ASTCCJC, youth chapters of Taiwanese chambers of commerce in various Asian countries also shared their organizational affairs promotion situation. The event came to a successful conclusion.
