Since its inception in 2021, the Global Young Entrepreneur Stars Selection, organized by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), has garnered significant enthusiasm from the overseas community. In its third year, the award received an impressive 61 applications from young entrepreneurs across six continents. On May 15th, the OCAC conducted the selection panel meeting and officially announced the awardees of the 2023 Global Young Entrepreneur Stars Selection, which includes 30 exceptional young entrepreneurs.

OCAC Deputy Minister JHAO-SYONG RUAN, who served as both a member and the chairman of this year's selection panel, first expressed his gratitude on behalf of Minister CHIA-CHING HSU to the selection panel and to the executive team, the China Productivity Center, for their dedicated efforts. The OCAC Global Young Entrepreneur Stars Selection aims to identify and support young overseas entrepreneurs, and all outstanding applicants deserve recognition. Deputy Minister RUAN further emphasized that the entire selection process adheres to the principles of fairness, openness, and objectivity, encompassing a rigorous two-stage evaluation comprising a written review and a final assessment. Each remarkable young entrepreneur has an equal opportunity to receive recognition.

The OCAC assembled a selection panel of seven members, all experts representing various domestic and foreign industries, government agencies, research and development institutions, and overseas chambers of commerce. The applicant pool exhibited remarkable diversity, encompassing young entrepreneurs from the fields of professional services, retail and trade, food and beverage, manufacturing, management, and technology. Among the 30 young entrepreneurs selected, 11 are from North America, 8 from Asia, 3 from Europe, 4 from Oceania, 3 from Latin America, and 1 from Africa. Notably, this marks the first time OACA has received applications from the Czech Republic, Portugal, and Guatemala.

The Awardees will have access to tailored consulting services from expert advisors and seasoned business owners. They will also have the opportunity to leverage multiple channels to promote their businesses and learn from others' experiences. The objective is to continue guiding the growth and advancement of these young entrepreneurs, and facilitating connections with domestic industries, academic institutions, and research organizations.
