The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) was established by the government of Taiwan in order to strengthen ties with and between Overseas Compatriot communities in other countries, support the development of cultural and educational activities by Overseas Compatriots, provide guidance and assistance for Overseas Compatriot operated businesspeople, and provide a range of other services for Overseas Compatriots.
Given to new type of internet media application popularization, the Japan Service Station was established in late May 2001 to strengthen the connection and service and the Council’s news provided to Overseas Compatriots communities and Compatriots living in Japan. Overseas Compatriot Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan(TECO-Japan) is affiliated with OCAC and under the jurisdiction of TECO-Japan. OCAC expatriated secretary in TECO-Japan is responsible for overseas compatriot affairs in Japan.
