The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe—Junior Chapter holds online European Youth Forum

The forum was chaired by The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe—Junior Chapter (ETCC-JC) President Dr Benny Hsu PhD (Cantab), Secretary General Dr Betty Luong PhD (Goethe), Treasurer Dr Shih-Hau Tan PhD (Greenw), Global Young Entrepreneur Star Dr Fengi Tai PhD (Linköping) and University of Cambridge Research Associate Dr Ming-Tsung (Louis) Wu PhD (Taiwan). The keynote speaker was former ROC ambassador to New Zealand Wen-Chieh Dale Jieh. He analyzed cross-strait relations through the lenses of the European integration process. Scholars and experts in the biomedical technology, history, innovation and incubation fields were invited to share their research.

Guest speakers of the biomedical technology session are Dr Ming-Hsuan Wen PhD (Cantab), Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, Dr Tzu-Wen Wang PhD (UCL), Senior Research and Teaching Fellow at King’s College London, Dr Han Fu PhD (Imp), Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Dr Ming-Shih Hwang PhD (Imp), Senior Research Fellow at the Francis Crick Institute, Dr Linus Kao PhD (Case Western Reserve), Lead Systems Engineer at Novartis and Dr Isabella Tsai PhD (Cantab), Manager at Acer Value Lab. They presented topics on public health, industry-academia cooperation, cloning, viruses, vaccines, nano-medicine and digital health technology.

Guest speakers of the history session are doctoral students Lily Li-Chia Liu and Ping-Luen Baron Ho from the University of Oxford, Kok Yin (Hercules) Chu from the Hong Kong Baptist University and Chak Ming (Xavier) Mok from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. They presented on Sichuan Han dynasty tombs, light, Cantopop since the 1970s and Han wooden slips.

Assistant Professor Tien-Chien Lee, Director of the Innovative Incubation Center at National Tsing Hua University, led JelloX Biotech CEO Yen-Yin Lin, Praexisio Taiwan CEO Dr Yuan-Yu Chang and CTO Dr Yi-Yun Cheng, iBenDom Assistant Vice President Bo-Yan Peng and LianLi AutoVision General Manager Han-Yun Chen to share their experiences.

After the forum, ETCC-JC held its third board meeting, drawing the day to a close.

This forum was chaired by the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Europe—Junior Chapter President Dr Benny Hsu. Around 260 young overseas compatriots from Europe and North America were in attendance.
Dr Han Fu, Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, presented on modelling vaccination strategies against infectious diseases.
Chak Ming (Xavier) Mok from the Chinese University of Hong Kong discussed a case study of the Han wooden slips.
National Tsing Hua University Assistant Professor Tien-Chien Lee gave an introduction to the Innovative Incubation Center of his university.
