International Digital Learning Partner Program: Life amidst the pandemic Taiwanese and American students have it “covered”
Lexington Chinese School and Jinhua Junior High School held the third international digital learning partner activity online on January 7. Around 50 students from Taiwan and the US talked about how the pandemic has affected study and normal life online.
The students really looked forward to this activity and sharing how their lives have been affected by the pandemic following the positive response that the previous two online exchanges received. The students of Jinhua Junior High School carefully prepared English presentations that took everyone back to the “shortage of toilet paper”, “long queues for facemasks” and other situations early in the pandemic and introduced local measures such as “real name registration” and “joint name registration”; then they described their various special experiences and challenges of learning online after classes were suspended. These resonated with the students from Lexington Chinese School who also said they had experienced panic buying of daily essentials in supermarkets followed by months of learning online and, in particular, the year-long learning online of Lexington Chinese School.
