TCCPJC Organizes a Pilates for Wellness Workshop

The Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Paraguay Junior Chapter (TCCPJC) organized a Pilates for Wellness Workshop on January 20th, drawing in sports enthusiasts and representatives from various organizations to take part in this energetic event.

The event kicked off with an opening remark from President Andy Tsa of TCCPJC. He expressed gratitude to the OCAC for supporting the event, and also thanked Studio Ocho for providing the venue. He then extended his greetings to the distinguished guests, including Secretary I-Lun Chen of Consulate General of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Ciudad del Este, OCAC Senior Advisor Tseng-Chieh Ying, Principal Tze-Ming Szeto of the Sun Yat-Sen Overseas Compatriot School at Ciudad del Este, and President Tse-I Liao of the Hakka Association in Paraguay, among other representatives and distinguished guests from overseas communities. He underscored the crucial role of exercise in modern life for maintaining health, igniting discussions on vitality and well-being.

Ms. Wen-Hsueh Kuo, the Founder of Studio Ocho, shared her passion and personal experiences with Pilates. She founded Studio Ocho to inspire more people to adopt a healthy and happy lifestyle. She also introduced four professional instructors: Antonella Leavy Torraco, Deisy Alvarenga, Edgar Castillo, and Marcela Anahí Torraco. The attendees learned about the various health benefits of Pilates.

Marcela shared the origins of Pilates and the tireless journey of how Joseph Humbertus invented and promoted the Pilates method of physical fitness. These insights deepened the audience's understanding of Pilates. Edgar guided participants on proper breathing techniques. Split up in groups, attendees also gained firsthand experience distinguishing Pilates from other forms of exercise. Tasty refreshments were also provided after the exercise.

The the participants from various local organizations in Ciudad del Este, including Junior Chamber International Ciudad del Este, Club Leo Presidente Franco, Rotary Club Ciudad del Este, and Comunidad Jurídica del Alto Paraná. This event facilitated exchange between the TCCPJC and local organizations. Following the trial session, attendees reported feeling physically and mentally relaxed, and a better appreciation for the health advantages of Pilates. The Pilates for Wellness Workshop concluded on a positive note, effectively promoting a culture of physical activity and fostering greater awareness of overall well-being.
