To improve the Mandarin and English proficiency of TCML’s students and youths in Ireland, the first meetup event, organized by the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning in Ireland, sponsored by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), was held at The Masonry, Dublin on March 26,2023.

Evan Furlong, Adviser OCAC and Director of the TCML Ireland, who welcomed everyone to TCML Ireland’s first meetup event.  Director Furlong said, "Our goal for these gatherings is to create a fun and engaging environment that promotes language exchange and helps facilitate new friendships. With Easter just around the corner, I've decided to organize three teamwork games to encourage collaboration and camaraderie.  First up, we've got a scavenger hunt that will be conducted in English. This game is designed to challenge your problem-solving skills and promote teamwork within your assigned teams. For the second task, we'll be playing Frontline Support, where Mandarin will be the language of choice. And finally, we'll be ending the meetup with a quiz game using the well-loved platform Kahoot."

The Meetup group of the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning in Ireland (TCML) has attracted more than 60 members in just one month since it was set up, and 26 people signed up for today’s event. All the participants of the meetup event immersed themselves in a fun and relaxed language learning atmosphere. In addition to learning a language, they can also make friends with people who want to learn the language. The first meetup was so popular that the second and third meetup will be held in April and May. Although the first event has ended, the friendship and language learning are ongoing.
